Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old. If you are not, you may not create an account. We may close accounts that break this rule.

Keep your sign-in details to yourself and let us know if someone else gains access. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Embers creates AI companions. Every reply, voice and picture is generated by software. Your companion is not a real person and cannot give medical, legal, financial or crisis advice. If you are in danger or in distress, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional.

AI output can be wrong, odd or unexpected. We do our best, but we cannot guarantee the content of any reply.

You may not use Embers to:

• create or request sexual content involving minors, or characters presented as minors;
• impersonate a real person without their permission, or create a companion based on someone else;
• harass, threaten, defame or harm others;
• generate content that is illegal where you live, or that promotes violence or self-harm;
• break the service, get around plan limits, resell access, or scrape the app.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, without a refund.

You keep ownership of the companions, messages and uploads you create. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the service for you. You are responsible for anything you upload, including any voice recording, and you confirm you have the right to use it.

Embers has a free tier with daily limits and a paid Premium membership. Your payment method is charged when you subscribe, and then on each renewal until you cancel.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe and include any tax that applies where you live. We may change prices for future renewals and will tell you beforehand.

You can cancel at any time from Settings. Your Premium features stay active until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again. Because the service is digital and available immediately, payments already made are generally non-refundable, except where the law where you live says otherwise.

We aim to keep Embers running, but we may change, pause or stop features. We are not liable for interruptions outside our control.

To the extent the law allows, Embers is provided as is, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You can stop using Embers at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@emberscompanion.app. We may close an account that breaks these terms or the law.

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when. Croatian law applies, and you may also rely on any consumer protections available where you live.
